The Child Protection Society of Lethabong (C.P.S.L.) is a non-profitable and non-governmental organisation which strives to uphold the rights of children through various services provided. It is the first in Lethabong (Rustenburg) in the North West Province. It stands as a watchdog over children’s rights all around Lethabong. It is run by the community represented by the organisation’s programmes director and a committee that consists of not less than six (6) members, and has the support of local government and all stakeholders involved in the initiative.
The Child Protection Society believes that each child at the Centre needs to be holistically developed; emotionally, psychologically, physically and spiritually. This approach will equip the child with life skills to fit effectively into their communities when they leave the centre and enter the real world. They will be strong enough despite their life experiences, challenges and difficulties to face and meet the demands of the world. By its very nature it is as child-centred which is reflected in the promise. “This Child Is Mine.”
The Child Protection Society of Lethabong envisions a child friendly society that allows every child it touches the opportunity to realise his or her full potential. To develop a holistic child.
- It will always strive to develop and maintain co-operative relationships with all similar existing organisations for a better future of its child-centric mission.
- To protect and promise the wellbeing of orphans and vulnerable children.
- To assist and equip them with values and life skills that will allow them to become self-reliant as well as responsible citizens within their communities and the world.
